Change Italy can believe in? Populist backlash ahead of key elections

Latest update : 2018-03-01

By François PICARD

Emmanuel Macron should take heed. Across the Alps, a lesson in what happens when you don't deliver the goods. We'll see why and ask about an electorate squeezed by austerity, fed up with corruption and nervous about immigration. The populist backlash is palpable. So what do Italians want? Are they drifting away from Europe?
