US citizen Kenneth Bae spent two years in a North Korean labour camp. He had originally been sentenced to 15 years of hard labour for allegedly attempting to overthrow the regime by spreading religious texts. The Christian missionary was eventually freed in November 2014 thanks to the efforts of the Obama administration. He now lives in South Korea, where he is running an NGO helping defectors from the North. He spoke to FRANCE 24 about his ordeal and his hopes for peace on the peninsula.
